I leave out the cream cheese and instead throw in a few potatoes to thicken it up, calorie and fat slasher!! The seasonings are really up to you, this is pretty zippy as is, but we served it with hot sauce on top and mixed it in.
Here is the pot full of chopped squash boiling:

After it has simmered 25 minutes, scoop the contents into a blender and blend on the Liquefy setting until it's smooth. Be careful! It's really hot and splatters of boiling squash soup hurt!
